Skewed Justice ~ Getting away with slander, etc.

The justice system we have here in these times is so flawed and full of legal loopholes, that every now and then we become witness to many criminal cases that sees many of the vicious slimy perpetrators grin their way out of court and escape having to face the brunt of skewed man made laws due to certain technicalities!

Cowardly cyber-snipers who commit libel, slander or defamation at times do get away with their crimes because the skewed justice system today often is at a loss in pinning them down on the grounds of lack of clear incriminating evidence that leads them back to the perpetrator.

Actually if the courts were to engage qualified cyber forensic experts, tracking down the cyber=sniper would be as easy as a walk in the park so to speak? All that the prosecutor would have to do is to engage the telecommunications system provider to do a search and trace the IP address of the perpetrator.

They could also go through the suspect's personal computer and sieve through the hard disk for incriminating evidence linking the user to the said slanderous document or published content.

In the United States of America, lawyers have engaged IT experts to do such in depth investigations and usually manage to unearth relevant data that can be used to incriminate the offender but over here in this country such detailed and thorough cyber forensic works are yet to be employed.

Thus it is no wonder that many of those who commit slander, libel or defame others practically get away with their heinous crimes. One thing though is that these slanderers forget how in the Day of Judgment, nothing will escape the scrutiny of Allah the All Knowing God of us all!

Many go about thinking that since the courts couldn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it is they who committed such crimes, they are free to do as they wish and when given a chance will go on to repeat such crimes at will?
The reality is that they tend to forget the existence of the two Malaikats Raqib and Atid @ Angels of Allahu Ta'ala who record each and every deed or misdeed that we commit and enter such actions that we do into our Book of Records.

This is part and parcel of a Muslim's faith. Knowing that we can't escape Allah's Scrutiny and that we will be held accountable for all that we do no matter that no one else is privy to what we have done?

Any Muslim who denies this is guilty of Disbelief @ Kufur. For believing in the Malaikats @ Angels is one of the 6 principles of Iman in Islam.
  1. Belief in Allah;
  2. Belief in the Malaikats @ Angels;
  3. Belief in the Revealed books;
  4. Belief in the commissioned Prophets and Messengers of Allah (peace be upon them all).
  5. Belief in the Resurrection and the events of the Yaum al Qiyamah @ Day of Judgment.
  6. Belief in the Qada' and Qadr @ predestination by Allah of all things, both the (seemingly) good and the (seemingly) bad.
So that simply comes to mean that no true Muslim worth his or her name ought to think that they can get away with committing injustice towards others and even if they do succeed in carrying out their perfect crime here on earth, they better get themselves ready to face the music in the hereafter which is a certainty.

No matter how they scheme and plot their way out of getting caught up in their treachery here on Earth, in the Hereafter their own limbs will speak out against them providing evidence before the Lord Almighty and with each confession, there is no way for those who are guilty to get away scot free!

Answer for their crimes they will and shall suffer the consequences of their sins here on Earth there in the Narr Al Jahannam!

May Allah bless and guide us all towards being responsible bloggers working towards upholdi! ng the t ruth and speak up for the ones who have been wronged!

Ameen.

jurunilai kjaan diguna-pakai utk semua urusan hartanah kjaan..bukan sbb sapa pandai sapa tak pandai..point aku ialah kau & cai2 yg lain kena appreciate yg dlm urus niaga ini nilai yg lebih rendah telah digunapakai...maka beruntung lah rakyat sgor..alhamdullillah..

DAP Received Bribe From Scorpene

We are aware of how Pakatan Rakyat, through SUARAM had made a heavy accusation to the Malaysian Government and the Prime Minister that they were involved in corruption, and even murder, during the transaction of purchasing Scorpene submarines by the Defense Ministry.
To justify their accusation, SUARAM had linked the government and France's legal system by saying that the case is on trial at the country and a few names, including the PM, would be given subpoena.
But, recently, SUARAM had taken the action of keeping themselves quiet when the government managed to prove that there is no trial involving any Malaysian politicians nor the government. Thus, no subpoena is going to be given to anyone. Even the french embassy in Malaysia was confused with SUARAM"s rudeness where they used the name of Judges, Court and even the French government just so that that could bring down Malaysian government.
Companies such as Thales and Terasasi had no involvement with the business transaction for Scorpene. Even Perimekar clearly not the one who receive any commission, but legitimate pay on their service in preparing places to stay, allowance, holiday tickets, training cost for officers, crews and staff and the management cost and coordination for six years.
French police then confirmed that SUARAM lied when the name Altantuya which was linked to the PM and Abdul Razak Baginda had never entered France when the transaction was on process.
Things get more interesting when SAUARAM was found to be registered as business organization and that they receive funds from some mystery entity which makes then the NGO who 'fights for human rights'. That became doubtful, and up ! until no w, SUARAM is still yet to explain the background of their establishment.
Whatever it is, everything is out, SUARAM now became passive and they are no longer agressive in handling issues.
From there, DAP began to take over by raising this issue which is now dying. For that, newspaper TheROCKET on July 15, 2012 published a flow chart showing the relationship between the government, PM and a few companies which were claimed to have received bribes during the purchase of the submarines. They are saying that the flow chart is a concrete evidence and rakyat should believe everything it says.
It is always easy to draw a flow chart with 'explanations' to create issues, accusations or just about anything, For example, the flow chart and the headline for the article itself. Anyone can accuse by writing article and creating the chronology and flow chart and push rakyat to believe in it.
Writer or anyone who plans for the PM's political strategy could also create documents to show that DAP has its role in accusing the government and the PM for this Scorpene issue and that they receive finds from Singapore and CIA.
But not everyone are liars like DAP and SUARAM. The Malaysian government is a responsible government and it is often prepared to face the enemy (opposition) professionally.
The government do not need to accuse anyone to raise rakyat's support/ As of for now, SUARAM, opposition's tool, have failed. DAP, PKR and PAS themselves are facing various scandals with evidence and witnesses. There were even cases where the main witness for DAP's corruption case was found dead where it made rakyat realize that DAP is not just corrupt, they are gangsters as well. And all of this is true, not made up by the government like how the opposition simply create the issue of Scorpene corruption.
We are well aware that the strategy to accuse without evidence is a culture for the opposition and it is eating them. The peak of it was when their 'famous fiction writer', Raja Petra Kamaruddin had to surrender af! ter crea ting the spark towards the government in the Scorpene issue.
And now, it seems that SUARAM is giving up as well. The only one that is left would be DAP who really want to raise up the issue again. Hence, this raises question, is the flow chart just another one of their fantasy?

ANTI LYNAS SUDAH GAGAL.

Lynas: 20,000 Vs 28 Million Rakyat

On July 14, an NGO that goes by the name of Save Malaysia, Stop Lynas (SMSL) had raised a vote in 19 cities around Malaysia to get support in their effort to stop the operation of Lynas plant in  Kuantan.

All 28 locations in Malaysia were scheduled to join the program but they only run the vote in 19 areas while other places were used to hold activities such as raising signatures, pickets and flash mobs.

The voting which began at 5pm and closed by 9pm raised 20,194 support of which those who objected on Lynas while only 6 supported the operation.

Based on the calculation, SMSL in their official website in a way announced that majority Malaysians do not want Lynas to operate!

The question is, how can SMSL justify 20,194 as the majority when the number of Malaysians overall are 28 million. As for the distribution, from all 19 cities which they raise the votes, with only around 20,000 votes, it means that not more than 1,000 people object Lynas in each of the 19 cities.

Thus, how can they justify that 1,000 is the majority voice of each cities? How many people are there in each of the cities?

The fact is, 20,000 from 29 million is such a humiliating number for SMSL. What's worse is that the votes also show majority of the votes come from Chinese community, that do not reflect voice of Malaysian as a whole.

Moreover, how can they guarantee that their votes are fair>How can we be certain that none of SMSL members cast their votes?

Do they use indelible ink? Biometric system? What procedure? Who observes SMSL votes> Why do they do it in small areas and the organizers put on BERSIH shirt?

And can we trust SMSL when they mixed their survey with the issue of Teoh Beng Hock's death, where his pictures were decorated over banners and voting boxes during the whole program. When the fact is, his death did not die because of Lynas's radioactive waste but he could be the key to reveal DAP's corruption scandal in Selangor.

So, how can we trust an organization who politicize the death of their own people just to cover the corruption scandal which involves the political party which they support?

All of these showed that SMSL practices double standard, unfair, no integrity, morally wrong, hence, they do not have the rights to question anything especially about Lynas.

The conclusion, it is now proven that only 20,000 objected on Lynas compared to the whole 28 million Malaysians. With that, it is official that SMSL had lost the whole game. And if it is true that SMSL really fight for Malaysia, they should accept this democratic decision. Like people said, if you lose, just accept it, do not go around making noises and harassing people.

Water Crisis: Khalid Ibrahim Is Taking Too Much Risk

Water is the source of life. Without water, the effects would simply be catastrophic.
But in Selangor, the state government is looking at this issue as something small and they are much more comfortable to play politics rather than looking for the long term solution for the betterment of 7 million consumers including in Kuala Lumpur & Putrajaya.
The report from Association of Water and Energy Research Malaysia (AWER) stated that Selangor would suffer water crisis by 20014, that matter should not be ignored.
The report was even backed by National Water Services Commission (SPAN) whych confirmed that clean water supply is critical with only 6 percent.
Looking at the Selangor Government's attitude where they seemed to be ignoring the project of Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant, clearly shows its failure in managing the future of the state.
When the reason why the new plant (Langat 2) is developed, along with water tunnel through Pahang-Selangor Raw Water Transfer Project (PPAMPS) to ensure that the supply of clean water would be constant to avoid the 1998 water crisis from repeating itself.
But when Selangor Government harassed the development of the project, up until now, a few areas in Klang valley including Selangor had to suffer water rationing considering that the water reserve in water treatment plants are decreasing.
Selangor Chief Minister, Khalid Ibrahim shared his though by saying that clean water supply could last until 2019. The statement is simply illogical and unjustified. The only reason why such statement was made is because he do not want the public to worry about anything. So, he simply sweep everything under the rug.
The fact is, from 33 water treatment plants aro! und Sela ngor which provides water for Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur, only a few of them are still working under the maximum capacity.
One of them include the water treatment plant in Sungai Rasa which operates at the capacity of 138.71 MLD when the maximum capacity is 250 MLD (Million Liter Daily)
However, due to the fact that a few of these plants which are barely working do not have any pipe that connects to other places, the rest of the plants had to operate within maximum capacity, for instance, Sungai Langat plant which operates with 447.42 MLD compared to maximum of 386 MLD.
Sungai Semenyih in the other hand supplies 665.92 MLD worth of clean water when the capability is only 546 MLD.
Plants which operates over the maximum capacity would soon suffer issues which could happen simultaneously, the domino effect would not only cause trouble to rakyat, it would also give a heavy impact to factory operations which generates the country's economy.
Overall, Klang Valley consumers use around 4,219 MLD while the amount of clean water supply that could be provided by all 33 water treatment plants is only 4,326 MLD.
Each day, demand for water would increase and if no new plants are developed, this might cause losses for consumers and the chain reaction would cause a heavier crisis.
Isn't it clear here that Selangor Government's ignorance for the Langat 2 project development would not just increase the development cost, but it would also give negative impact to rakyat?
Is this what we want?

PAS MALU BESAR PENEROKA TIDAK SOKONG HIMPUNAN OREN

July 18, 2012   ·   1 Comments

pas-keldai-300x3001

Enough with hudud

The growing number of politicians in this country who think that hudud is a good idea for Malaysia should see the video that is circulating online of the execution of an Afghan woman by her husband for alleged adultery.

THERE is a video circulating online which everyone in this country should watch.

It depicts the execution of an Afghan woman for alleged adultery. Her husband shoots her many times in the head while being cheered on by a crowd of men.

If anyone thinks this happened many years ago during the Taliban–era, they are sadly mistaken.

This gruesome event happened recently, in present-day non-Taliban-ruled Afghanistan.

The authorities are now looking for the executioner who has predictably disappeared. But really they should arrest the entire crowd that watched it, as accessories to murder.

I think this video should be shown to the growing number of politicians in this country who think hudud is a good idea for Malaysia. In particular, it should be shown to those who have just called for the same.

If they can watch the video without at least blanching and truly think that's what they want, then I hope they will be held accountable for not only the exodus of Malaysians from this country but also for the drastic reduction in foreign investments coming in.

If they want to blow us back to the Stone Age, then they should at least be made to answer for it.

What is it with some of our politicians who seem to have taken leave of their senses?

Is the loathing for reading and knowledge so widespread that they have to show it off with such ill-informed statements?

In a world where problems are increasingly sophisticated and complicated, is hudud the only response these people can come up with?

Maybe they should get out a bit more.

They might like to travel to places like Pakistan where the literacy rate is all of 55% and where, in some areas, only 22% of women can read.

Or, go to Iran where a full 40% of the population lives below the poverty line. They might also like to notice the vast numbers of children forced to do backbreaking work in the Middle East.

Or they can stay home and instead of reading the tabloids and beefing up their knowledge on which actress is about to marry which rich man, they might like to read up on our very own Federal Constitution which basically says that not only can't you have hudud laws, you also can't impose it on anyone who isn't Muslim.

Unless they have some subconscious need to lose the elections for their beloved party, then they might pause and see where this is going.

But introspection is not a Malaysian strong point.

Somebody floats an "idea" that they think will attract some press attention and next thing you know, everyone else is jumping on the bandwagon.

Never mind that none of the so-called hudud punishments can be found in the Quran.

For years, our Government has steadily pooh-poohed the idea of having hudud in this country because that was what the Opposition (or at least some of them) wanted. For years those of us who knew that hudud did not belong in the 21st century have held on to that as our bulwark against theocratic rule in this country.

Now, however, the government supporters have changed their tune and are echoing the Opposition's line all those years ago. They seriously think this is the way to win an election?

If hudud is to be implemented, then I hope someone realises that it has to be implemented fairly.

Therefore not only will petty thieves get their hands cut off but major-league million-ringgit bribe-takers too. And no doubt we will have morality police patrolling the streets and checking that everyone is being good.

Water, water everywhere but...

What KL and Klang Valley residents want is sustainable water supply for the future.

MALAYSIA gets more than 80 inches of rainfall on average in a year. Some places get a lot more.

We have 70% of our land area under forests, or so we are told. We have rivers and streams running the length and breadth of the country — and they never run dry.

Anecdotally, we don't even seem to have a distinct dry season these days with rain coming in large squalls more or less throughout the year. There is so much rain sometimes the ground can't absorb all the run-off and we get floods.

What then can possibly be an excuse when we start talking about an impending water supply problem, including rationing in many areas in Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley where over six million people live, work and play?

None at all.

The inescapable conclusion that we must make if any part of Malaysia lacks for water at any time during the year is that there has been utter lack of planning, substantial incompetence and patronage.

Now, things are complicated by the fact that the Selangor government is in opposition hands, making the resolution of existing water conflicts and woes caused by previous misplaced, misguided, miscued policies that much more complex.

For a proper resolution of the existing dire water situation in the KL/Klang Valley area, it is necessary to have a historical but practical perspective of things realising that a bad situation or deal cannot be put right immediately.

Even as attempts are made to unravel previous agreements, one must realise that there are legal agreements in place and that they just cannot be discarded.

Even if there are provisions for some things to be undone, it has to be carried out in a manner that does not disrupt water supply.

While it would be morally correct and prudent to question excessive spending on water supply, there has to be a simultaneous understanding that if existing plans to ensure continuous supply are put in jeopardy, there will be a real chance that water supply lines will be broken.

That means that alternative plans must be on the table for supply if original plans are going to be scrapped.

There has to be clear identification of what these plans are and how long they will take to ensure water supply.

We must also realise that many mistakes have been made over the issue of water supply and agreements with concessionaires. This has made the solution of water woes more difficult because one has to keep on looking at how new arrangements will affect old ones.

It will be absolutely necessary, in the interest of doing things better in future, that these mistakes are not repeated because as history has shown it will be very difficult to undo them.

Such complicated things are delicate and difficult to handle and involve a lot of technical details. High-cost measures are not necessarily the best. Experts talk of using water-runoff, for instance, instead of dams. There is the possibility of using ground water, too.

Surely Selangor has enough water instead of having it piped through an expensive tunnel from Pahang. If we reduced non-revenue water wastage — through broken and old pipes and water pilferage — we could potentially solve water woes, too. An estimated 40% of water is lost this way.

And all this is not rocket science. Penang has done it well over many years through a state-owned company that was eventually listed.

Its consumers pay one of the lowest rates for water and enjoy among the highest water security in the country.

It is sad but true that political will is at the best of times low. But with two political coalitions tugging away at either end of the pole, you get a lot of wasted effort and nothing to show for it.

The best way out would be a process akin to arbitration. What that means is both political sides surrender their decision to an arbitration panel, which in this case will take the form of an independent team of advisers from at least three different firms of water experts.

Give them three months to look at it, study the matter, choose alternatives and come up with a proposal.

Only, their proposal should be binding on both parties — in this case, the federal and state governments.

If they can't do this, than the future looks very bleak, the public is going to be pissed off with both sides as they badly want sustainable water supply, and there will indeed be "Water, water every where/ Nor any drop to drink" as Coleridge wrote in The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

> Independent consultant and writer P. Gunasegaram hears thunder as he writes this – more rain but where goes the water? It never rains but it pours!

Can someone rebut this?

From the New Straits Times Press, Ahmad Ibrahim, Fellow of Academy of Sciences, Malaysia Quote:

"La Rochelle, the 'Lynas of France'

Many would be surprised that La Rochelle has for decades been hosting a rare earths processing plant, similar to the one planned in Malaysia.

The La Rochelle facility, which belongs to France's Rhodia Group, has for years been operating like Lynas. Forty years to be exact. And there has been no adverse health and safety report in the tourist town.

The Rhodia company is an active player in the rare earths business. It is a leading processor of rare earths. In fact, it's the only fully integrated industrial player to have manufacturing operations and raw material supply both within and outside China.

The plant in La Rochelle has been in operation for more than 50 years.

In the early years, the plant processed rare earths ore concentrates from Australia and China just like Lynas would. For 40 years, the plant was operated in this manner, producing cerium for the world market.

The radioactive thorium residues have been stored within the plant's 40ha site for the past 50 years. During storage, the residues are regularly monitored by the country's regulatory authority, the equivalent of our Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB).

They believe the stored thorium salts will become a fuel of the future.

What is clear is that the rare earths processing facility in La Rochelle has been operating for more than five decades without harming the population. Instead, La Rochelle has thrived over the years as an attractive tourist destination not only for the French but also for holiday-makers from other European countries and even as far away as the United States.

Through the deployment of stringent health and safety standards, the chemical plant has been of no consequence to the local community.

Instead, it has contributed to the local economy not only in terms of job opportunities but also tax revenues.

! After vi siting La Rochelle, it beats me why there are still people who are so hung up on Lynas."Unquote

Quote: AELB (Atomic Energy Licensing Board, Malaysia):

Malaysia was the world's no. 1 producer of tin. Along with tin, there's always Thorium and Uranium and therefore this is not Malaysia's first facility, AELB is has experience to handle this, to overcome this and AELB is prepared.

THERE ARE MORE THAN 10 FACILITIES THAT ARE VERY SIMILAR TO LYNAS.

SOME OF THEM ARE PRODUCING HIGHER RESIDUES, HIGHER CONCENTRATION OF URANIUM AND THORIUM.

AELB has been able to regulate and control these factories, so it is based on AELB experience and the experience of the industry abroad." Unquote

QUESTION: WHY IS IT THAT THERE ARE NO DEMONSTRATIONS BY
THE ANTI-LYNAS FOOT-SOLDIERS AGAINST THESE 10 CHEMICAL
PLANTS ALREADY IN MALAYSIA THAT ARE PRODUCING "WASTES
WITH HIGHER CONCENTRATIONS OF URANIUM AND THORIUM"?

ANSWER: 100% PURE POLITICS FROM TOXIC RADIOACTIVE
POLITICIANS !

PAS Malu Besar Peneroka Tidak Sokong Himpunan OREN

Of Ah Beng and Ah Bian Politicians – Ballots, Bullets and Bullshit

Chen Shui Bian & Lim Guan Eng – similar styles?

Everyone knows that DAP styles its politics on that of Taiwan. Even its campaign songs are sourced from popular Taiwanese songs.

DAP politicians talk like that in Taiwanese, very rough and aggressive language. The best example is Hew Kuan Yau, DAP's fat and ugly "Superman".

The words that comes out of his mouth would make a fishmonger blush.

Like their Taiwan counterparts, the DAP politicians like to attack before they are attacked, twist words, distort situations and call people liars when they are the ones talking lies.

The use of foul language is not uncommon, they are very aggressive in accusing their opponents of everything under the sun.

Lim Guan Eng is already been referred to as the Ah Beng politician – uncouth, uncultured, unrefined, lack finesse, disrespectful of dissident views and enjoys belittling people.

Shame on you lah!

Some call it the politics of ballots and bullets because the politicians like to claim that their life is in danger, their security is threatened and that people are trying to harm them.

They often "receive" bullets through the mail. Sounds all too familiar right?

How many DAP politicians have received bullets through the mail? Sounds more like bullshit than bullets to us.

Like in Taiwan, DAP uses lots of song, slogans and mascots. It is all very gimmicky.

Their Ubah mascot is the hornbills, a reminder of their outstanding performance in the Sarawak elections.

They are telling Chinese in Malaysia ! to follo w their counterparts in Sarawak and to sweep them to power.

We are told that this is copied from a more recent Kuomintang campaign slogan called "Power to Change".

The Taiwanese style is also to stage a giant rally on the eve of polling, to create a sense of excitement and mood that everyone is going with the party.

It is what some have called political theatre, a tactic to entertain, titillate and energise people who would normally not be interested in politics.

Another Taiwan trait is the use of cyber troopers who dominate the Internet.

These cyber troopers have several roles. One is to intimidate journalists by condemning anything they write against DAP leaders especially Lim Guan Eng.

They email nonsensical threats and derogatory remarks to writers.

Another role is to comment on popular new portals like Malaysiakini, running down the government, condemning the other side and praising the DAP and Pakatan.

Their role is to make it appear that there are lots of people out there supporting LGE.

Actually is just a small group, each of them running several email accounts with pseudonyms.

We are told that the Chief Minister's chief publicity officer Chan Lilian is in charge of cyber troopers guarding the image of LGE.

Her cyber toopers are among the fiercest. They act like they are guarding the Emperor and the Middle Kingdom.

After four years of DAP leadership in Penang, we have reached the conclusion that Lim Guan Eng is the Malaysian version of Taiwan's disgraced ex- president Chen Shui Bian, who was president of Taiwan from 2000 to 2008.

But he is now sitting in prison for the rest of his life after being convicted of corruption amounting to millions of dollars.

His wife and partner in crime is also serving life imprisonment.

Yet Chen began his politics as the people's hero, a street fighter and someon! e who da red to take on the then all powerful Kuomintang who had ruled Taiwan since its formation.

But he was also very controversial, claiming that he was poisoned during a local level election in the 1980s.

Again, it sounds familiar? Maybe Anwar Ibrahim has also been borrowing ideas from Taiwan.

Like LGE, Chen was a superb opposition figure because it is easy to talk and accuse.

Once he was elected, it was a different story. He won in 2000 with only 39 per cent of the votes and his government was weak not only because of his weak majority but because he simply did not have the leadership.

Although he talked about a clean government, his own people were quickly corrupted in their doings.

Chen's favourite line when he failed to get things his way was to blame the previous government and his opponents.

In 2004, on the eve of his re-election, he and his vice-president Annettte Lu were shot at during the final campaign.

Both suffered superficial wounds on the thigh. Soon it became clear that the accident was staged to gain sympathy.

Thanks to the shooting, he scrapped through the campaign with a mere 300,000 votes out of more than 12 million voters.

His second term was even more disastrous than his first. That was when he and his wife decided to make hay while the sun shines.

They siphoned millions of dollars of campaign funds abroad. That and several other corrupt transactions are the reason why the former first couple are now spending life behind bars.

LGE is about to end his first on a disastrous note. He is on the defensive, unable to deliver on economic issues, confronted with complaints about the destruction of Penang's once green hills, fighting with the media including the Chinese vernacular media.

The traffic jam has not improved at all, the kopi tiams are as dirty as ever and more and more people have trouble buying property on the island because t! he price has skyrocketed.

The Malays hate him and the Indians do not trust him. He is desperately banking on the Chinese vote and even that is slipping away as they begin to see that he is arrogant and short on delivery.

We hear he will win a second term with a lesser majority. We hope he will not try to follow the Taiwan style too closely like send bullets to himself or even stage a shooting.

We don't mind the street theatre of ceramah, the songs and the slogans but please, Mr Drama King, don't test our patience. We are really getting sick of you.-StopTheLies

Thousands of villagers affected by negative effects of logging

Press Statement by MCA Kedah Chairman Dato' Chong Itt Chew

Thousands of villagers affected by negative effects of logging

Aside from causing rampant deforestation, state government-backed logging in Kedah has also resulted to the pollution of nearby rivers that villagers and other locals are highly dependent on. According to The Star (18 July 2012), more than 3,000 people from five villages in the area have been affected by the logging, as their main source of drinking water is no longer clear and clean.

It is time for the PAS-led administration in Kedah to understand the needs of their populace and end the logging at once. If it cannot provide a need as basic as clean water to the citizens and residents of Kedah, then it has completely failed as a government to represent its people.

Water pollution disrupts livelihoods of locals & spoils nature's beauty

For more than 20 years, the residents of the five villages have been getting their water channeled from the Sungai Kupang river. But the logging on Gunang Inas, where the Sungai Kupang runs, has polluted the river. So the villagers can no longer rely on its waters to drink, cook, bathe, and wash. Now, the people of Kedah are left with no choice but to buy water for drinking.

Aside from affecting the daily activities of villagers, the logging has also spoiled the beauty of the area. Kampung Iboi used to be a favourite picnic spot destination, but now visitors no longer come, and even locals are staying away because of all the pollution. The serenity that marks Pedu Lake as a natural attraction and as a wildlife sanctuary has also threatened because of the harmful effects of logging.

The people of Kedah have held many demonstrations in order to stop the logging. But, their efforts have obviously been in vain. To this day, the PAS Menteri BEsar and his excos continue to dismiss their pleas and has allowed for logging to continue. What will it take for Pakatan to wake up and realize the dangerously harmful effects of logging? I strongly urge the Kedah government to listen to its constituents and end its poor stewardship of the environment now.

Kedah govt reckless logging scheme blindly prioritises profits over environmental security

Press Statement by MCA State Assemblyman for Gurun Dr. Leong Yong Kong

Kedah govt reckless logging scheme blindly prioritises profits over environmental security

The Kedah PAS-led state government needs to recognise that, while it may be profitable for their financial coffers, the consequences of logging greatly outweigh its benefits as the livelihoods of Kedah people are greatly jeopardised by the poor stewardship of the environment.

As reported in The Star (18 July 2012), villagers, environmentalists, and NGOs alike have been outraged by all the deforestation occurring in the name of make way for the Ladang Sejahtera rubber plantation scheme, which is claimed as a great future source of revenue for the state government. Their anger is understandable as the wildlife and biodiversity in the area have been severely affected from all the logging. I strongly urge the Kedah government to listen to the concerns of the rakyat and to stop disrupting the ecological system of the forestry for the sole purpose of making quick profit.

Pakatan, once again, goes against its Common Policies Framework; Gazetted directive ignored

In its Common Policies Framework, Pakatan promises to protect the environment for "future generations" by ensuring that "all logging activities and deforestation are carried out in a controlled and sustainable manner." But Pakatan's environmental malfeasance in Kedah proves otherwise based on the current logging affair in Kedah today.

According to the 2010 Auditor-General's Report, about 13,949ha of land in 2009 and 7,856ha in 2010 have already been cleared for logging in Kedah. This represents total disregard of a gazetted directive on state logging procedures, and the state administration does not show any sign of stopping soon, as it is now targeting the High Conservation Value Forest in Pedu as the next area to be logged. About 500ha has already been approved for the first stage of logging in the area, which is just about 300m away from Pedu Dam.

Ironically, even protected forests in Pedu are not spared by Pakatan. Evidently Pakatan will do anything to get its way, even if it means endangering the hill areas that protect the very foundation of the Pedu Dam. The Kedah government cannot afford to continue ignoring the probable damage forest depletion might cause.

Has PAS been so blinded by its own money-making scheme that it cannot see just how much the environment might be endangered ? Why do DAP and PKR excos and state assemblymen condone PAS' deforestation, at the expense of the people who have to endure water pollution and livelihoods impinged upon?

PANAS BERAPI! DAP SAMA BABINYA MACAM YAHUDI!

Nga Kor Ming’s outspokenness at Chinese Education Forum in Ipoh aimed at scoring political mileage

Press statement by MCA Youth Publicity Bureau chief cum Selangor MCA Youth chairman Dr Kow Cheong Wei

Nga Kor Ming's outspokenness at Chinese Education Forum in Ipoh aimed at scoring political mileage

DAP Perak Secretary Nga Kor Ming only dares to be vocal on abolishing the special position of the Bumiputeras. However, he dares not blast the comments by PAS Youth Publicity Bureau chief Riduan Mohd Nor who in September last year, had criticized the Prime Minister's remarks that Barisan Nasional will gradually reduce the differentiation between Bumiputera and non-Bumiputeras.

At a Chinese Education Forum in Ipoh last Sunday, 15 July 2012, Kor Ming remarked that Chinese education encountered problems due to differentiation between Bumiputeras and non-Bumiputeras, and hence, the government has to abolished this differentiation. It is the opinion of MCA Youth that Kor Ming delivered such comments merely to appease the the Chinese Community.

To inform all Malaysians, Kor Ming should insert into the Buku Jingga that the tripartite Pakatan pact has agreed to abolish the status differentiation between Bumiputeras and non-Bumiputeras. This would indicate Pakatan's sincerity. Otherwise, Kor Ming should clarify that his attendance at the Forum was mere acting designd to please the people who attended.

MCA Youth had dispatched the MCA Youth Education Bureau chairman Sdr Chong Sin Woon to attend the said Forum where he gave a realistic and practical view to those who attended. However, DAP's Kor Ming did not speak from the angle of the foundation of Malaysia.

In listening to any political speeches by any political parties, the Chinese Community should evaluate from the angle on the possibility of implementation, and gauge whether it is feasible to implement as such in Malaysia. The Chinese community should also expose any statements by public figures who only aim to win votes and benefits for the party.
